The Role and Economic Benefits of Steel Mesh

Nov. 19, 2020

Reinforced Mesh is a mesh formed by tying or welding crisscross longitudinal and transverse steel bars. This is one of the contents of the Ministry of Construction's 2005 Key Ten New Technologies Promotion and Application in the Construction Industry.

Reinforced mesh is used in beam and column floors, roofs, walls, concrete pavements, bridge decks, airport runways, tunnel linings, box culverts, dock floors, prefabricated components and other industrial and civil housing fields.

1.Improve project quality

Welded steel mesh is manufactured by using high-quality LL 550 cold-rolled ribbed steel bars in the factory, and is manufactured through a fully automatic intelligent production line according to the mesh number, diameter, spacing and industry standards provided.

①With accurate grid spacing size and precise number of steel bars, it overcomes the large spacing error caused by manual placement of steel bars in the traditional manual lashing process, and the phenomenon of reduced lashing quality.

High-Quality Steel Mesh has high rigidity, good elasticity, high welding joint strength, good shear strength, and load can be evenly distributed on the entire concrete structure. It overcomes the problems of low strength of class I round steel, poor plane stiffness, deformation and displacement, and effective height changes of the load surface, which affect the bearing capacity of the structure.

③Because the welded steel mesh adopts longitudinal and transverse steel bars to form a mesh structure, the purpose of bonding and anchoring under uniform force is achieved. In addition, the transverse deformation of the cross section improves the bond strength with the concrete, effectively prevents the concrete from cracking, and improves the internal quality of the reinforced concrete.

2. Improve production efficiency

The factory production of Welded Steel Mesh accounts for more than 90% of the original on-site production, which guarantees the output of steel production and binding, and greatly shortens the construction period of the project. Welded steel mesh can be laid in only 60 man-hours, 70 man-hours are reduced compared with manual tying, and 54% of man-hours can be saved in total, which solves the problem of narrow construction site and noise pollution caused by steel straightening. , Promoting civilized on-site construction.

The overall economic benefits of welded steel mesh are very good. The design strength of welded steel mesh is 50% higher than that of grade steel (smooth steel welded mesh). After considering some structural requirements, it can still save about 30% of steel. The processing cost of loose support steel bars with a diameter of less than 12mm increases by 10%-15% of the material cost. Comprehensive consideration (compared with | grade steel) can reduce the cost of steel engineering by about 10%.
